Use a FiveM soundboard across proximity, radio, and role-play voice

CABLE Output may be selected correctly yet reach the wrong audience when a server resource owns the radio channel, the player is outside proximity, push-to-talk is closed, a cached profile still points elsewhere, or the server forbids non-diegetic clips. BordQ sends the physical microphone and triggered clips into CABLE Output. FiveM records that endpoint, then the connected server can place the voice in local range, a radio target, a call, or a custom channel with its own processing and permissions.
Keep incoming call or game audio out of VB-Cable. Only the BordQ microphone-and-clip mix should enter CABLE Input; routing both directions through the same cable creates echo, delayed duplicates, or a feedback loop.
Open the FiveM or GTA profile voice settings and choose CABLE Output for Input Device. Keep the headset selected for Output Device. Because servers and GTA profiles can cache audio state, reconnect or restart FiveM after changing the device before judging the route.

Route BordQ into FiveM in five steps
Configure the path from source to destination, then prove the complete route with one short clip before a real call, match, or public room.
- Install BordQ and expose both VB-Cable endpoints
Install BordQ on Windows and let its audio-driver setup finish. Restart Windows if CABLE Input and CABLE Output do not appear in the device lists.
CABLE Input is the playback endpoint BordQ sends to; CABLE Output is the recording endpoint the destination hears.
- Build one clean mic-and-clip mix
In BordQ Audio Setup, select the physical microphone as Microphone Input and VB-Cable Input as Virtual Cable (Output). Trigger a short, normalized clip and confirm the BordQ and Windows recording meters move.
Leave headphones as the playback device. Do not route the destination output back into the cable.

Open Settings > Voice Chat, enable voice and microphone input, select CABLE Output for Input Device, and leave the physical headset as Output Device. Reconnect to the server after changing the input so the current voice resource sees it.
The documented GTA profile includes separate voice input, output, mode, volume, and sensitivity values; changing only Windows playback does not update all of them.
- Map push-to-talk without colliding with radio or BordQ hotkeys
Identify the server bindings for proximity talk, radio, phone, whisper, and range changes. Assign BordQ triggers that do not overlap movement or transmit controls, then hold the intended talk key for the entire clip.
Server resources can replace common defaults, so read that server's keybind and audio instructions rather than copying another community's layout.
- Run proximity and radio tests with one approved player
On a private or low-traffic server area, verify speech and one normalized clip nearby, at the edge of the voice range, and on the configured radio channel. Confirm the clip stops when the microphone is muted and never returns through the headset route.
Separate tests reveal whether the device, the server voice target, or a radio resource owns the failure.

FiveM role-play communities often have strict rules for soundboards, metagaming, impersonation, sirens, and radio traffic. The server rules always outrank a technically working setup.
Fix a FiveM soundboard that is silent, doubled, or in the wrong place
Follow the signal from left to right and change one setting at a time. A local monitor is useful, but only a remote listener proves the final channel.
- CABLE Output shows no recording activity — Return to BordQ and confirm Virtual Cable (Output) is VB-Cable Input. Check Windows microphone privacy permissions, driver installation, device mute, and the BordQ output meter.
- The meter moves, but listeners hear nothing — Re-select CABLE Output under FiveM Voice Chat, enable microphone input, reconnect, hold the server's active transmit key, move into range, and verify the intended proximity, radio, or call target is selected.
- Listeners hear themselves or a delayed duplicate — Incoming audio is entering the cable, or speakers are feeding an open physical microphone. Use headphones, remove loopback or monitoring routes, and monitor the BordQ mix in only one place.
- Proximity works, but the radio or phone channel is silent — The base microphone route is proven. Check the server resource, radio frequency or call state, job permissions, and its separate transmit binding instead of replacing VB-Cable.

Which microphone should FiveM use?
Select CABLE Output as the FiveM Voice Chat Input Device. Keep your physical microphone inside BordQ and keep game output on the real headset.
Can I keep speaking while a clip plays?
Yes. BordQ mixes the selected physical microphone and clips into CABLE Output. Balance clip gain below normal speech and use ducking or short clips when intelligibility matters.
Why can I hear a clip that nobody else hears?
Local monitoring proves only the playback side. Check CABLE Output activity, the destination input, active channel, mute or push-to-talk state, permissions, and a remote listener.
Will one setup work on every FiveM server?
The Windows input route is reusable, but server voice resources, channel logic, keybinds, filters, and rules differ. Validate proximity and radio behavior after joining each server.
Is a soundboard allowed here?
Follow the connected server's role-play and audio rules. Never impersonate staff or emergency services deceptively, spam public areas, mask harassment, or disrupt radio channels and serious scenes.
